University Centre Telford

The University of Wolverhampton’s first Regional Learning Centre, University Centre Telford has been in operation since April 2015. It is located on the 3rd floor of the Southwater Building in the heart of Telford. It has operated as a partnership with Telford College and Telford and Wrekin Council. The Centre has made excellent progress in creating an effective University presence in Telford, and is playing a key role in raising aspirations and driving demand for higher education locally.

We achieve this by:

  • Building growth locally through a wide range of market building activities;
  • Hosting University of Wolverhampton courses;
  • Creating progression pathways for local students in collaboration with Telford and Wrekin Council (LearnTelford), Telford College and other providers;
  • Offering opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and upskilling;
  • Hosting open events and progression events on behalf of our three Faculties;
  • Hosting a wide range of public lectures by University academic staff;
  • Attendance at school and college careers events to help to raise aspirations of local young people;
  • Hosting a range of programmes to break down barriers to progression;
  • Offering a drop-in Centre for study space and enquiries for our existing students and for students from other Universities who live locally.
